Borstal Girls: Rosy Ann

Rosie Ann plays a frightened young offender in the first of a series of films set in a UK borstal, a type of youth detention center. The wicked staff at the institution take every opportunity to inflict corporal Punishment on the equally wicked female inmates.

In this scene, Rosie experiences a painful introduction to the harsh regime at the hands of the glamorous disciplinarian, Miss Jessica. The film imagines the kind of institutions that once existed in the UK, where corporal punishment was routinely used to keep order among the young women detainees.
