John is his usual self, full of attitude and excuses. His poor step-mother, Miss Zee, gets a surprise visit from John's teacher in the evening and to her horror she discovers that John has been destroying letters from Miss Hewit, who has been trying for a while to inform her of John's bad behaviour at school.
John gets bedtime paddling, in his bed, from them both. Unfortunately, John has no remorse, no accountability and no intentions to improve. This is just the start of his stepmother and his teacher working together to break him.
